“The Gift of the Magi”

“The Gift of the Magi” is such a moving story because it represents how selfless a husband and wife are to each other. The marriage between Della and Jim is so precious and compassionate. In this time of world, it is really hard to say if self-less marriages are upon younger marriages. However, older marriages still may have that ever-lasting love. Mathilde’s love for her husband is not much as Della’s devoted love. However, Mathilde’s husband is almost of that that Jim because they are both willing to please and protect their wives. This type of love also is reflected in the Gilded Six- Bit with Joe and Missy May because they have the same type of love, especially when it comes to being devoted and caring of one another.
